The North Pole was conquered during
the Polar Night!

On March 14, 2008 at 7.40 p.m. (MSK), the Russian explorers Matvey Shparo and Boris Smolin for the first time in history reached the North Pole during the night, traveling more than 1000 km over the drifting ice of the Arctic Ocean.

"The Ski Track of Russia – the North Pole"

On April 20, 2008 seven girls and boys under the leadership of Matvey Shparo and Boris Smolin reached the North Pole after traveling 100 km over the drifting ice of the Arctic Ocean.

The yacht "Apostol Andrey".
Connection of times, or 185 years later.

On August 5, 2006 the yacht Apostol Andrey entered the inner harbour of Kronshtadt and made fast at the frontier berthing place. The same berthing place, from which the yacht started its route to the Antarctic Ocean 691 days ago.

Souvenirs!

There was published a book of Nikolay Litau "The second circumnavigation of the yacht "Apostol Andrey". This book is written in a gender of diaries, and is dedicated to the expedition 2001-2002, when the yacht closed "a ring" along the perimeter of the Arctic Ocean.
